Apple Crisp
Ingredients
8 cups tart cooking apples, peeled and sliced
1 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup old-fashioned oats
2/3 cup butter softened plus additional for greasing pan
Dash salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground nutmeg
¼ tsp ginger
½ cup pecans, chopped and toasted
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. In large bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, oats and butter, salt and seasonings to create crumbles.
3. Grease a 9 x 12 inch casserole dish with butter. Spread apples evenly on the bottom of the pan.
4. Spoon crumbles over apples. Sprinkle with toasted pecans.
5. Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
