BBQ Biscuit Bake

For biscuit base:

2 cups all purpose flour
¾ tsp baking powder
½ tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
5 Tbsp and 1 Tbsp butter, melted
1 cup whole milk

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease a deep dish pie pan with 1 Tbsp butter.
3. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, cayenne pepper, salt, sugar and cheese.
4. Make a well in center of flour mixture and add milk and 5 Tbsp melted butter. Mix well.

5. Press dough into dish, building up on sides.
6. Bake for 25 minutes. 

For BBQ filling:
8 ounces spicy sausage
¼ cup Dickie Bird BBQ sauce
4 eggs
2 Tbsp heavy cream
½ cup jalapeno jack cheese, shredded
2 tsp vegetable oil
1/3 cup mixed sweet peppers, sliced
2 green onions, chopped

1. Brown sausage in a nonstick skillet. Add BBQ sauce and simmer on low for 5 minutes. Drain sausage.
2. Whisk eggs and cream together. Scramble soft. Remove from heat.
3. Press sausage into biscuit base. Top with scrambled eggs and sprinkle with cheese. Place in oven for 15 minutes.
4. Sauté peppers and onions for 3 minutes. After pie has cooked for 15 minutes, spread pepper mix on top of cheese and finish under broiler until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
