Biscuits and Gravy

For biscuits:
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
½ cup sour cream
2 cup self-rising flour
½ tsp salt
1 Tbsp sugar

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Whisk butter, milk and sour cream together in a large bowl.
3. Add four salt and sugar. Knead to combine.
4. Roll out dough to ½ inch thickness. Cut with round cutter. Place 2 inches apart on a baking stone. Bake 12-15 minutes, until golden.

 For peppered cream gravy with sausage:
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 cup water
4 Tbsp butter
1 cup heavy cream
½ tsp coarse ground pepper
½ cup water
10 oz breakfast sausage
Salt to taste

1. Cook sausage with ½ cup water in a stove top skillet. Drain.
2. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water.
3. Melt butter in a skillet. Add cream and pepper.
4. Add cornstarch liquid. Whisk continuously as you bring gravy to boil. The gravy will thicken immediately. Remove from heat.
5. Stir in sausage crumbles. Salt to taste.
