Caramelized Turnips and Onions
Ingredients
3 cups turnips, cut bite size
1 small yellow onion, chopped bite size
1 cup chicken stock
3 Tbsp butter
¼ cup sugar
Black pepper
Directions
1. Combine chicken stock, butter and sugar in a large cast iron skillet. Bring to boil.
2. Reduce heat to low, add turnips and onions.
3. Cook at low heat for 20 minutes, stirring sporadically until onions are translucent and turnips are caramel colored.
4. Sprinkle with black pepper before serving.
