Country Cornbread

Ingredients
1 egg plus 1 egg yolk
1 cup milk
1/3 cup lard, melted
3 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
2/3 cup sugar
1 heaping cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cornmeal

 Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together egg, egg yolk, milk, lard, baking powder, salt and sugar.
3. Incorporate flour and cornmeal to create batter.
4. Grease 9 inch skillet. Pour batter into skillet. 
5. Bake 25-30 minutes, until center has set and top is golden.

6. Allow to cool before removing from pan.
