Crock Pot Split Pea Soup

16 oz dried green split peas
3 carrots, chopped
1 small yellow onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups low sodium chicken broth
3 cups water
1 tsp ham base seasoning
Fresh milled black pepper

1. Place all ingredients in crockpot. Stir to combine.
2. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
3. For a thicker soup, remove 2 cups peas, puree in blender and then stir back into soup before serving.
