Garlicky Turnip Mash

Ingredients
4 lbs turnips
1 tsp Kosher salt
½ cup butter
1 cup milk
½ tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions
1. Remove turnip tops and tails. Cut into quarters. Place in a heavy stockpot with 1 tsp salt. Bring to boil then reduce to simmer until turnips are cooked through. Drain.
2. Melt butter in heavy stockpot. Add milk, garlic powder and turnips. Mash with a potato masher or beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Salt and pepper to taste.
