Texas Pork n’ Beans

Ingredients
2 cups dried navy beans, soaked overnight and sorted
1/2 tsp salt
2 slices bacon
1 lb ground pork
1 small sweet yellow onion, chopped
1 handful of mixed peppers, chopped
16 oz diced tomatoes
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup molasses
1 tsp mustard
1/3 tsp pepper
1 tsp chili powder
Cornbread or taco chips for serving.

Directions
1. Place beans in crock pot with ½ tsp salt. Cover with water. Cook on high 4 hours.
2. Brown bacon and ground pork in a skillet stovetop. Add onions and peppers, sauté tender. Drain.
3. Add pork and veges and remaining ingredients to crock. Stir well.
4. Reduce heat to low for 2-3 hours.
5. Serve hot with cornbread or taco chips.
