Peanut Toffee Bars
Ingredients for crust
¾ cup Crisco
2 heaping cups flour
1 tsp salt
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Prepare a 9 in springform pan, greasing with Crisco then dusting with flour.
3. Knead ingredients to crumbles. Press gently into the bottom of prepared pan.
4. Bake 18-20 minutes. Until golden.
Ingredients for filling
1/3 cup corn syrup
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla
Dash cinnamon
Dash salt
2 cups roasted unsalted peanuts, finely chopped
Directions
1. Bring syrup, sugar, butter, cream to boil in a heavy saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla, cinnamon, salt and nuts.
2. Pour over crust. Bake an additional 18-20 minutes at 350 degrees, until browned and set.
3. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
