Homemade Peanut Butter
Homemade peanut butter
Makes about 1 quart
Ingredients
Raw, unprocessed peanuts in shell
3 Tbsp Vegetable based oil
Cane Sugar
Sea Salt
Directions
1. Shell enough peanuts to fill an extra-large baking sheet.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
3. Spread peanuts on sheet. Roast peanuts 20-30 minutes until skins are golden brown. Remove from oven and cool.
4. Remove skins by placing peanuts in a colander and stirring vigorously. Place skinned peanuts in a food processor or blender. Don’t stress over removing every shell, a few left in give butter a full roasted flavor!
5. Chop peanuts until they begin to clump, 3-5 minutes.
6. Scrape sides. Add oil. Continue to process until butter is smooth and creamy consistency, 15-20 minutes.
7. Add sugar and salt to taste. Blend well.
8. Pour into mason jars. Seal and refrigerate until use.
