Gift in a Jar: Old Fashion Ham Bean Soup

1 Tsp Ham base or Sazon ham packet
1 Bay leaf
¼ tsp Salt
½ tsp Coarse black pepper
1 tsp Parsley
1 tsp Minced garlic
2 tsp Minced onion
½ cup Dehydrated vegetables
1 ½ cup White beans
¾ cup Hurrite beans (yellow)
1/3 cup Yellow eye beans

1. Combine base and all seasonings in one baggie. Twist to tie.
2. Measure dehydrated veges into second baggie. Twist to tie.
3. Layer beans in the order they appear in recipe in jar.
4. Add baggies to jar and seal.

To prepare you’ll need:
1 Old Fashioned Ham Bean Soup Jar, Water
14oz Stewed tomatoes

1. Wash and sort beans. Soak overnight. Rinse and drain well.
2. Place beans in a large stockpot with seasonings. Cover with 2 inches water.
3. Bring to boil, then reduce to simmer until beans are tender (2+ hours). Add additional hot water if required.
4. Add tomatoes and dehydrated vegetables. Continue to simmer until soup thickens (about 1 hour).
