Gift in a Jar: Seasoned Bean Soup

1 (32 oz) Jar
2 Small sandwich baggies
2 Tbsp Chicken base
1 Tbsp Minced onion
1 tsp Minced garlic
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Parsley
½ tsp Black pepper
½ cup Dehydrated veges
½ cup Small red beans
½ cup Yellow eye white beans
½ cup pinto
½ cup split green pea

1. Combine base and all seasonings in one baggie. Twist to tie.
2. Measure dehydrated veges into second baggie. Twist to tie.
3. Layer beans and peas in the order they appear in recipe in jar.
4. Add baggies to jar and seal.

To prepare soup you’ll need:
1 (32oz) Seasoned Bean Soup Jar, Water, 14 oz Stewed tomatoes

1. Wash and sort beans. Soak overnight. Rinse and drain well.
2. Place beans in a large stockpot with seasonings. Cover with 2 inches water.
3. Bring to boil, then reduce to simmer until beans are tender (2-4 hours). Add additional hot water if required.
4. Add tomatoes and dehydrated vegetables. Continue to simmer until soup thickens (about 1 hour).
